Music begins it all

If I have an idol I shouldn't have, it would be music. In this blog, I will give a path of discovery in music. I will make the lists but also give some insight to the emotion. I might bleed a little just like the musician does to make his art. All the better if I do.

Just bought "Pastime Paradise" by Stevie Wonder. Hoping to purge "Amish Paradise" and even "Gangsta Paradise" from my mind. The original is best. The lyrics ...wow. So I'll paste them all in. It is deserving of it.

Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a pastime paradise
Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a pastime paradise
Theyve been wasting most their time
Glorifying days long gone behind
Theyve been wasting most their days
In remembrance of ignorance oldest praise

Tell me who of them will come to be
How many of them are you and me
Dissipation
Race relations
Consolation
Segregation
Dispensation
Isolation
Exploitation
Mutilation
Mutations
Miscreation
Confirmation...to the evils of the world

Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a future paradise
Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a future paradise
Theyve been looking in their minds
For the day that sorrows lost from time
They keep telling of the day
When the savior of love will come to stay

Tell me who of them will come to be
How many of them are you and me
Proclamation
Of race relations
Consolation
Integretion
Verification
Of revelations
Acclamation
World salvation
Vibrations
Stimulation
Confirmation...to the peace of the world

Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a pastime paradise
Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a pastime paradise
Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a future paradise
Theyve been spending most their lives
Living in a future paradise
Weve been spending too much of our lives
Living in a pastime paradise

Lets start living our lives
Living for the future paradise
Praise to our lives
Living for the future paradise
Shame to anyones lives
Living in the pastime paradise

So now you know where I start from. Music has to make me care. It has to hit my soul and spirit(yes, they are two different things) or at least one of them. My music is a balence of soul music, that which finds my emotiosn, changing or confirming them. There is spirit music that speaks to my connection with God, confirming it also. This song hits them both. Thank God for iTunes indeed.
